Not Cetus, but Andromeda

Thursday, 25 September 2025

In the like, first week of Not Cetus, but Andromeda being up, 14 people have looked at the itch.io page, 5 people have downloaded it, and 3 even willingly chose to pay real human dollars. Which is, astounding. Just like, wildly beyond the expectations I had for it, which was uh.... none, haha. It was a good educational experience if nothing else. I didn't go for anything like, buying an ISPN or IngramSparks or some other self-publishing press machine stuff for this. It's an indie self-published poetry chapbook after all, and I'm well aware of the... reputation that has, so I figured it wasn't worth that level of investment, even as an educational exercise.

That said, I really am very proud of my work in this collection, both on a personal meaning level and just as a milestone of writing development. It really does mean a lot to me that other real human beings even so much as looked at my work in this form. I can only hope they've found something they enjoyed or that spoke to them in it. Part of why I make art is to attempt to bridge that impossible distance between human souls.

If I had more confidence in myself and my postion as a trans woman in the publishing space under this enviroment I'd probably have tried my luck with indie press submissions but well, I just don't have the emotional bandwidth for that!! I'm hanging on by a thread as it is out here, you know!?

Moving on, I've updated a couple of entries over in the writing section, particular vis a vis Soul Starved. I have this idea in my head of posting updates here as well, but I'm not sure how feasible that'll actually prove.
I still need to actually proper-like sort out the CSS sheet stuff. Having a unified area to keep the basic site layout without needing to then go and tweak every individual page would be, uh... well it would great. It's going to take an afternoon of self-education to figure it out though so until the motivation strikes, here we are.
